Dates for Your Diary

Unless stated otherwise, meetings are held at The Royal Philatelic Society London, 41 Devonshire Place, London, W1N 1PE. This is near Regents Park and Baker Street underground stations.

We normally lunch at The Kings Head, Westmoreland Street nearby. It has good food and beer at reasonable prices.

Meetings open at 10.30am for 11.00am start and usually continue until approximately 4.30pm.

As long as material is available, a mini auction will be held at all London meetings. If you have material for including in the auction please see Auction Secretary, Gerald Marriner, when you arrive for the meeting. There is usually a theme for displays but new acquisitions may always be displayed.

Dates and programme for the 2016 & 2017 meetings.

11th February 2017Competition Day and Recent Acquisitions. The competitions to be held are; The Society Cup for Stamps, The Sussex Cup for Postal History and Postal Markings, The Tom Green Cup for Occupation Postal History and Postal Markings, The Society Cup for Postcards, The Ephemera Competition Cup and the Picton Phillips Cup. There are new rules for the competitions in 2017. Please read them carefully. competition-rules
7th - 9th AprilThe weekend meeting to be held in Cardiff. This will be at the Jurys Inn, 1 Park Place, CF10 3UD.
15th JulyOpen Philately and the AGM. Please note the change of date.
16th SeptemberThe theme for the day will be transport.
9th DecemberThe letters ‘K’ and ‘L’ of the alphabet.

Dates for 2018 Meetings.

Saturday London meetings will be held on, 17th February, 7th July, 22nd September and 15th December.

The Society weekend will be on 20th – 22nd April at the Hotel de France, St Helier, Jersey, JE1 7XP.



Members′ Displays.

Members regularly give displays all over the country. Please let us have details, including title/topic of talk, venue, society/club being visited, date and time of talk, so they can be publicized here on the website.

On Wednesday 6th September 2017 Jon Aitchison will be presenting the featured display to the Collector Club of New York on a Channel Island theme entitled Unusual Aspects of the Channel Islands. It will include postal history, the small islands, local issues, revenues, salvaged wreck mail, Ballon Monte into the Channel Islands from the Siege of Paris, aviation, railways, French Channel Islands and much more. There is a social hour from 5pm and the exhibit opens at 6pm.
